I work with clients with depression, stress, anxiety, and/or difficult pasts, I can help you see that life, relationships and how you feel about yourself can improve.
When you come for counselling you will experience a supportive, warm environment where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings in a non judgmental way.
As a counsellor, my role is to be your support person, to provide insights, point out patterns that I see and to offer information or suggestions that might help.
My counselling is always catered to your individual needs.
You might be overwhelmed by all the thoughts going through your mind, unable to quieten them down so that you can focus or get some sleep. All those thoughts need to go somewhere -I can help provide an outlet and give you tools so that you can learn to cope with them.
It’s good to talk. So the saying goes, but why?
When you’re feeling frustrated, stressed and/or anxious, it’s always good to talk. Talking about things allows you to get them into the open. Verbalising helps you to rationalise your thoughts and reinstalls your inner calm.
Imagine your mind is like a room. A room full of filing cabinets. Your thoughts are the files that need tidying away (compartmentalising). When you’re stressed or anxious you can’t think straight, you have too much clutter in your mind. Too many files all over the place. You can’t move. You can’t think clearly. When you talk you file the thoughts into their cabinets and you free up space to move and think. For good mental health you need space in your head so by tidying up your thoughts by talking and getting them out you create that space.
You are not alone and things can get better!
You don’t have to go through this alone. Unfortunately many people today suffer with the demands of life and self-defeating thoughts get the better of them. I can help you to change your thinking. In your heart you know that you deserve to be happier than you are.
